Mother Goose is a name you will be aware of, perhaps as a collection of nursery rhymes or images. The fact that Mother Goose originated from a fairy tale which became the first pantomime to be performed in England some two hundred years ago is less well known. The story is about a mother who nurtured and loved her children and all those around her and a goose which laid golden eggs as a reward for her beauty and kindness.
